Why we have Ugly Logo Icon ?

The default link to icon that browser fetches is: https://thepiratebay.org/favicon.ico and yes it's 8MP/16x16 image. I'm pretty sure it's legacy from the days older browsers were unable to accept higher resolution favicons.

That’s because all bookmarked things usually grab the icon that you see from the low res favicon from the top of your tab bar.
It’s not really something fixable unfortunately
